Meet Adam Croker!
Hailing from the sun-soaked desert of Albuquerque, New Mexico, this spirited athlete trains with a powerhouse crew of local (and might we say, world-class) Highland Games throwers. Adam’s journey into the world of cabers and kilts began four years ago after stumbling upon a local Highland Games event. Inspired by the strength, tradition, and sheer fun of it all, he dove into the sport as a way to reconnect with family, rediscover his Celtic roots, and reignite his passion for athleticism.
Like many of us, Adam found himself out of shape post-COVID and creeping toward 40 with the nagging thought that his fittest days might be behind them. Enter: the Highland Games. Now, at 42, he’s crushing that myth—and the competition—stronger than ever before. Though he trains to be a well-rounded heavy athlete, the hammer throw is where he really shines!
And in every throw, Adam proudly sports the United States Marine Corps tartan—an unmistakable nod to his service as a Marine and his unbreakable spirit.
You can find him competing at the following events coming up this summer (2025):
Las Vegas Celtic Festival and Highland Games – April 12th
Rio Grande Valley Celtic Festival – May 3rd
Cortez Celtic Fair – June 28th
