The National Library of Scotland is the legal deposit library of Scotland and is one of the country’s National Collections. As one of the largest libraries in the United Kingdom, the NLS is a member of Research Libraries UK and the Consortium of European Research Libraries.

A Scottish conservation organization that protects and promotes Scotland’s natural and cultural heritage. The Trust owns and manages around 130 properties and 180,000 acres of land, including castles, ancient small dwellings, historic sites, gardens, and remote rural areas.

HES is an executive non-departmental public body responsible for investigating, caring for and promoting Scotland’s historic environment. HES was formed in 2015 from the merger of government agency Historic Scotland with the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland. HES maintains more than 300 properties of national importance including Edinburgh Castle, Melville Monument, Skara Brae and Fort George.
